Can a good long hike help students choosing a major? How can hiking, or any adventure sport, help improve our lives?

That’s the question Travis Parsons and Curt Linville aim to address with The Adventure Sports Podcast.

I have quite a bit to say on the subject, so I joined them recently for a little chat on their podcast.

Choosing a major is very very similar to off-trail hiking. You must gather information and have a notion of where you want to go. You need to be able to explore a variety of options — but have a strategic system.

Choosing a major is always better when you can get guidance from someone who knows the terrain very well. You don’t have to figure it out by yourself — in fact, the students who find the most success and fulfillment when choosing a major ask for help and engage in the process. They don’t just throw their hands up.

I hope you enjoy this interview and others they have recorded.  They, too, are going Off-Trail On Purpose, so show them some love and subscribe to the podcast.  If you can, write a review for them to keep them growing!
